Lynyrd Skynyrd, Rev Theory, Blackberry Smoke Concert

Had the privilege of getting a photo pass and photographing the Lynyrd Skynyrd Concert with Rev Theory and Blackberry Smoke. I had an assignment to photograph the Sound Engineer of Blackberry Smoke for Premiere Guitar Magazine. Thanks to Elianne Halbersberg, a long-time friend who I haven’t seen in years, for getting me the assignment. Elianne is a local writer who has written for many a music magazine and has interviewed some of the greatest music stars around. Brit Turner, the drummer for BBS was kind enough to get me a photo pass for the concert. I was able to photograph BBS’s entire set which was really cool. I had actually never heard of the band but they were excellent- they had a southern-country-rock-blues sound- here’s their website if you’re interested: http://blackberrysmoke.com/. The second band was Rev Theory who I’d never heard of either but I recognized one of their songs from 95 Rock. They were actually a hard rock band which I thought was a little strange for a Lynyrd Skynyrd concert but they came out and kicked some serious butt. Here’s their website: http://www.revtheory.com/. Security only allowed me to photograph during their first three songs. I was only able to photograph part of Lynyrd Skynyrd's first song before security ran me off. They actually tried to run me off right from the beginning but someone (not sure who he was with) came to my defense and talked security into letting me photograph the first song (thanks stranger). Of course Lynyrd Skynyrd put on a great show. You can see all the photos here: http://stevebphoto.nextproof.com/.
